As they turned to investigate, they saw the Mothman standing in the shadows, its eyes glowing ominously.<br/><br/>The teenagers fled in terror, but the Mothman pursued them, its wings beating with a deafening roar. They managed to escape, but the experience left them traumatized.<br/><br/>As the sightings continued, a sense of unease settled over Point Pleasant. People began to avoid going out at night, and the town took on an eerie, otherworldly atmosphere. The Mothman had become a symbol of fear and foreboding.<br/><br/>Then, on December 15, 1967, tragedy struck. The Silver Bridge, which had been plagued by structural problems for years, collapsed during rush hour, killing 46 people.
