This project is about the development of a water-pumping windmill and the launch of Chakardi Salt; a fair trade salt brand, business and product. The windmill supports the salt farmer by pumping water using wind energy. It replaces current pumping systems like expensive and polluting diesel engines or labour-intensive hand pumps. Chakardi’s Salt business generates a surplus of profit which is used to finance the windmill project as well as its own business.
