Description: Artist and illustrator Alice Shirley spent weeks working in the eerie specimens room under the Natural History Museum on her series: 'Sea Monsters'. In it, Shirley painted a series of marine species in materials particular to them: a giant squid in ink, a horseshoe crab in the copper pigment of its blood, a giant clam in the chalk of its shell.
