This is a 37 second excerpt from “After Birnbaum,” a 4 minute, 9 second HD single-channel video (4:3 in a 16:9 format) from my project “After” (2020) - a series that seeks to revisit, recreate and reconsider appropriation art from the 1970s to the present. nnI have remade roughly half of Dara Birnbaum’s seminal feminist video work “Technology/Transformation: Wonder Woman” from 1978/79 in which I transform myself into both Wonder Woman and her alter ego, Diana Prince.
