_4-wheel-steering-440-miles-range-and-754-hp-new-chevrolet-silverado-ev-rst-first-edition-2024.webp "Chevrolet is preparing to launch the Silverado EV RST First Edition, and the company announced that pricing will start at $94,500.<br/><br/>The Chevrolet Silverado EV RST First Edition will be available towards the middle of the year with a base price of $94,500.<br/><br/>The truck will have a range of 440 miles and a 754-horsepower dual-motor all-wheel drive system.<br/><br/>Additional variants, including Trail Boss trim, will follow in the future.<br/><br/>When Chevrolet introduced the Silverado EV two years ago, the company said the RST First Edition would have a range of 400 miles (644 km) and cost $105,000. Surprisingly, that's no longer the case, as range has increased to 440 miles (708 km) while the price has dropped to $94,500 before the $1,995 destination charge.<br/><br/>The announcement comes as the bowtie brand prepares to launch its top-of-the-line hardware towards the middle of the year. When the truck arrives, it will be equipped with massive 24-inch wheels and a fixed glass roof.<br/><br/>However, the model is more notable for having an Avalanche-like Multi-Flex Midgate. Allows the 5′ 11″ bed to be expanded to hold 9′ long items. If that's not enough, you can fold the Multi-Flex Tailgate to carry items up to 10 ft 10 inches long.<br/><br/>Inside, you will encounter an 11-inch digital instrument panel and a 17-inch infotainment system. These are accompanied by a flat-bottom steering wheel, metallic accents and red trim.<br/><br/>Motivation is provided by a dual-motor all-wheel drive system that produces an estimated 754 hp (562 kW / 764 PS) and 785 lb-ft (1,063 Nm) of torque. Allows the model to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in less than 4.5 seconds when using Wide Open Watt mode.<br/><br/>When it's time to recharge, device owners will be grateful for the 350 kW DC fast charging capability, which can deliver nearly 100 miles (161 km) of range in as little as 10 minutes. Reservations will also be rewarded with a complimentary two-way GM Energy Powershift Level 2 Charger worth 19.2 kW.<br/><br/>Other highlights include the 4-wheel steering system, which impressed us when we tested it on the GMC Hummer EV Pickup. The model will also have air ride adaptive suspension as well as a towing capacity of up to 10,000 lbs (4,536 kg).<br/><br/>At the top of the driver assistance range is Super Cruise with trailer support. Automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning and lane departure warning are also included, along with lane keeping assist. _luxury-enters-the-german-market-with-a-seven-seat-electric-suv-new-hongqi-e-hs9-suv-2024.webp "China's oldest car brand Hongqi enters the German market with a luxury, seven-seat electric SUV<br/><br/>The E-HS9 offers two battery options and a three-row layout for seven passengers, with a maximum range of 320 miles.<br/><br/>With prices starting from 80,000 Euros, the E-HS9 outperforms rivals such as the BMW X7 and offers luxury features.<br/><br/>In many ways, Germany is the epicenter of modern luxury vehicles; Brands such as Audi, BMW, Mercedes and Porsche set the standard in most categories. Even Britain's most prestigious brands are owned by German automotive groups, including Rolls-Royce and Bentley. Therefore, it seems only natural that Hongqi, China's most luxurious domestic brand, will enter the German market and compete for the spotlight.<br/><br/>Often referred to as the “Rolls-Royce of China” for its flashy vehicles and increasingly design language, Hongqi is owned by FAW, China's second-largest state-owned automaker. FAW hired Rolls-Royce's former chief designer Giles Taylor in 2018. Taylor's influence is clearly visible on the E-HS9 electric SUV, whose design hints at his previous work on the Cullinan.<br/><br/>Already having a presence in some European markets including Norway, Denmark and Iceland, Hongqi's entry into Germany with the all-electric E-HS9 follows Xpeng's last entry into the market with SUVs.<br/><br/>The E-HS9 offers an attractive design along with a three-row layout for seven passengers. It will be available in two battery configurations. The first can store 99 kWh and gives drivers a range of up to 289 miles (465 km) on the WLTP cycle. The second option, exclusive to the European market, offers a larger 120 kWh battery that increases the SUV's range to up to 320 miles (515 km) on a single charge.<br/><br/>Hongqi says the E-HS9 can make up 62 miles (100 km) of range in 10 minutes at a fast-charging station, thanks to a charging rate of up to 140 kW. There's room for all those batteries, thanks to an overall length of 205 inches (5209 mm), making it slightly longer than the BMW X7.<br/><br/>China's Hongqi Comes to Germany with Ambitious E-HS9 Electric Luxury SUV<br/>Similar to Bavaria's full-size luxury SUV, the Hongqi offers three rows of seating for seven passengers. However, the model with the larger battery pack only comes with six seats. There's a greater emphasis on luxury with leather upholstery, but both models benefit from features like adaptive cruise control, LED matrix headlights, and more.<br/><br/>While Hongqi aspires to compete with Germany's luxury brands, it may face difficulties in doing so. Despite its impressive appearance, numerous Western reviews criticized the SUV for sloppy chassis calibration and perceived poor quality.<br/><br/>Prices for the E-HS9 start at €80,000 (about $86,700 at current exchange rates), while the Exclusive Long Range edition starts at €102,995 (about $116,600).
