The ID.3 GTX and ID.7 GTX Tourer are now closely followed by the sporty electric van of the VW Commercial Vehicles division.<br/><br/>The minibus going to Europe for families who are always in a hurry comes with a four-wheel drive system as standard, thanks to its dual electric motors. Customers can choose between the standard wheelbase version combined with a 79 kWh battery and the longer wheelbase model, which benefits from a higher usable energy content of 86 kWh.<br/><br/>The engine pair is good for a total system output of 335 horsepower, allowing for both flavors to hit 62 mph in just six and a half seconds. Clearly, VW ID. The Buzz GTX will reach an electronically managed top speed of 99 mph.<br/><br/>You'll be able to tow up to 3,968 pounds with the Buzz GTX, whereas the extended derivative with the larger battery can only haul 3,527 pounds. When you opt for the long-wheelbase model, VW sells its largest-ever panoramic sunroof, which goes from opaque to transparent at the touch of a button, at an extra cost.<br/><br/>Identity. Buzz GTX goes on sale in Europe this summer.<br/><br/>VW will bring the electric van to the US later this year exclusively with a longer wheelbase, three-row seating and an 86 kWh battery, but without the GTX badging. The equivalent US model will feature a dual-motor, all-wheel drive setup.
