He was one of the prominent leaders during the freedom movement and his wish was to bulid a shrine for Bharatha Matha and he bought 6 acres of land for the same in 1923. But his couldn't materialize as leprosy consumed him 1925. The land is still there in Paupparapatti, Dharmapuri district.
