My interest in desi classical music introduced me to Shubha Mudgal about 15 years ago. nShe was born in Allahabad, India to parents who were apparently English Literature teachers. nDespite the appearance and setting with bindiya and hanging bells etc, the bandish she is nsinging includes blessings to Rasool saw and Imam Ali. Such music shatters many of our ndifferences between Pakistan and India and helps bring together people with a shared heritage.nn
