Description: The Ashen Cabin is a small building 3D-printed from concrete and clothed in a robotically fabricated wood envelope sliced from irregular Ash trees. The project aims to reveal the 3D printer’s highly idiosyncratic tectonic language while questioning preconceived notions about material standards in wood construction by upcycling infested waste wood.nnBuilt without formwork and printed in components on a self-built large-scale 3D printer, the cabin aims to demonstrate the architectural potential
