Description: Organist Johann Vexo plays Maurice Duruflé's Prelude and Fugue on the name ALAIN, Op. 7, the last of Duruflé's major organ works, was written in 1943, soon after the death of his friend and colleague, Jehan Alain, who was killed in battle early during Germany's invasion of France in World War Two. Transposed into the notes A-D-A-A-F, the 'Alain theme' percolates near the surface of the prelude, and intermingles with quotes from Alain's most famous score,
