Description: A 5 to 8 foot diameter wind blade needs starting torque of 1/6 foot-pound.You can measure this before making a blade purchase or build. Just attach a straight stick and measure as per my video.nnI estimate my 1/3 foot-pound generator resistance is starting to turn in a 10 mph wind.I'm going to try to improve that by doubling the diameter of the generator pulley, thus reducing starting torque by one half.
