Description: Every year, many of the already rare porpoises in the Baltic Sea die in gillnets, as their sonar does not classify the nets as an obstacle. The Thünen PhD student Isabella Kratzer researches how to modify the gillnet in a way that it becomes acoustically visible to the porpoise.
