Intentionally designed asymmetrical, the sport utility vehicle has what the creator calls the ‘diamond design’. Designer Luciano D’Ambrosio says inspiration was drawn from the Batmobile that featured in The Dark Knight trilogy. Luciano told R.Rides: “When you’re in this business for so many years you think, how about being a little different, especially exaggerated. The maverick designer threw the engineering manual out when envisioning the look for the Karlmann King. Multiple protruding surfaces making up its idiosyncratic look - the car is a spectacle to look at when it’s on the road. He said: “Going opposite to what the design rules would usually ask you for, it’s called the diamond design.” Although the car has been designed to be domineering and big, Luciano is quick to point out the car shouldn’t be seen as too aggressive. The construction of the car is comprised of a shell built and overlapped a Ford F550 chassis, but its unique design doesn’t stop there. For the more discerning customer the car is almost fully customisable. Under the bonnet the car boasts a Ford 6.7l V10 engine giving off 420 horsepower and, despite its mammoth shape, provides a smooth drive on the roads. The top speed of the vehicle is 220 km/h. Luciano said: “Given the size of the car you can imagine you’re driving an elephant but it’s a very flexible and nice drive.” Although its starting price begins at a cool $1,085,000, for a more bespoke design and with its customisable extras the vehicle can cost up to $3,800,000. “My most favourite thing is the way people look at the car, it doesn’t go unseen,’ said Luciano.")

The car's standard interior amenities include climate control and first-class infotainment system. Lotus offers a wide range of paint and interior trim options that allow you to personalize the Evija to your liking. Note that production is limited to just 130 models. Additionally, Evija is not street legal in the US.<br/><br/>The star of the show is the Evija's muscular electric powertrain. Motivation is provided by a team of four electric motors, and Lotus claims they produce a total of 1972 horsepower and 1254 pound-feet of torque. That's nearly twice the horsepower provided by more expensive hypercars like the Aston Martin Valkyrie. A single-speed automatic transmission handles everything and sends power to all four wheels. The car's light curb weight has been designed to optimize handling. The company claims the Evija weighs just over 3,700 pounds, making it the lightest EV hypercar to ever enter production. The Evija can reach a top speed of more than 200 mph, and Lotus expects it to hit 62 mph in less than three seconds . The car's performance can be customized through five driving modes: Range, City, Tour, Sport and Track.<br/><br/>EVs often require you to wait a long time for the battery to charge. Evija is different. It is equipped with technology designed to make charging the battery almost as fast as filling the gas pump. It takes just 12 minutes for the car to charge to 80 percent and just 18 minutes to fully charge.<br/><br/>The Lotus Evija seats two passengers and its cabin is accessed via a pair of dihedral doors. These doors are handleless to maintain the car's clean, sculptural aesthetic and are operated using the key fob. Once you enter the car, the doors can be closed using a switch on the roof console. Evija's electrically adjustable front seats feature a carbon fiber shell and thick microfibre-wrapped pads. The driver can manually adjust the tilt and length of the steering column, and there are two special storage areas located near the passengers' hip points. Standard interior equipment includes climate control and three-point seat belts; Four-point seat belts are offered as optional equipment. Overall, Evija's cabin has both a retro and modern look.<br/><br/>All Evija hypercars come with technological features such as Bluetooth connectivity and infotainment system. There is a digital display in front of the steering wheel that provides the driver with relevant information such as battery charge and remaining range. This is the car's only screen.
