A mum told she would never walk again after a freak rugby accident is competing to be crowned the world's strongest woman. <br/><br/>Nikki Ellerington, 45, says her sporting dreams were in tatters when she suffered a bad ankle break while playing rugby - with doctors telling her she'd likely never walk again. <br/><br/>After six to eight months of rehabilitation, Nikki defied the odds to take her first steps since her accident and even went on to be able to run 10km within three years. <br/><br/>Determined Nikki wasn't prepared to give up and soon began taking up cross-fit and training to get fit. <br/><br/>In October 2023, she was selected to compete in the over 40s category in the World Finals of the Official Strongman Games in Charleston, West Virginia, US, through an online qualifier.<br/><br/>The mum-of-four spent three days lifting huge weighted stones, sandbags, backpacks and 70kg metal blocks - and finished 21st out of 28 in her category.<br/> <br/>Nikki has also gone on to compete at the Official Strongman Games in England and will soon be heading off to compete in Finland.<br/><br/>Nikki, a personal trainer, from Hull, East Yorkshire, said: \

_rude-amp-aggressive-coppet-hall-car-parkers-slammed-by-operators.webp "The owners of the car park at Coppet Hall beach have moved to clarify concerns around the operation of the facility - but admit that they will now be working with an enforcement company - after instances of people who refused to pay to park becoming ârude and aggressiveâ towards attendants when challenged. <br/>The Hean Castle Estate has stated it wanted to bring an end to âensuing speculationâ over comments on social media that included âserious inaccuracies and assumptionsâ. <br/>Saundersfoot harbour commission recently received a backlash from members of the public for using the company Britannia Parking to utilise ANPR cameras at the seaside car park, operating 24 hours a day.<br/>A spokesperson for the Hean Castle Estate stated that a new ANPR system is due to be installed before the summer: âThe current system has had an Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) facility since it was installed, which notified the attendants of visitors who hadnât purchased a ticket on a previous visit. <br/>âWe have always tried to be pleasant and polite with our printed notices that were put on cars who hadnât paid, and often received positive feedback from people who had made a genuine mistake or the ticket wasnât in view.<br/>âOur primary requirements for the new system were for it to be user friendly, yet be able to issue Penalty Charge Notices to people who didnât purchase a ticket or overstayed, and also to be able to give us control over the penalty ticketing process.<br/>âUnfortunately, there have always been a small number of people who have refused to pay to park, and in many cases were rude and aggressive towards the attendants when challenged. <br/>âIn the last couple of years, the number of people not paying has increased, and the rudeness has reached an intolerable level. <br/>âAs a result, we have partnered with an enforcement company who will be able to raise Parking Charge notices against people who refuse to pay - and thus avoid the unpleasantness which has been forthcoming.â <br/>The new system at Coppet Hall will operate from 8am to 7pm, with parking remaining free outside these times. <br/>There will be a 15 minute âgrace periodâ which will be clearly signposted at the entrance.<br/>âThe Estate Office will have access to the ANPR system, so details of vehicles entering and leaving the site will be able to be checked, and in the case of genuine claims for errors, tickets cancelled,â they added.<br/>")
