Barbara met Quentin Stinson while attending Southern Illinois University (SIU) and the couple were married on June 11, 1948, at the First Presbyterian Church in Du Quoin. nnWhen Miss Melvin graduated from SIU in 1947, she began teaching math, driver’s ed and PE at Du Q
