Description: A founding member of Magnum Photos with Henri Cartier-Bresson, Robert Capa and George Rodger, Chim was sent to five countries of Europe in the Spring of 1948 as a special consultant to UNICEF. He went to Austria, Greece, Italy, Hungary and Poland and recorded UNICEF's action on behalf of the 13 million children who were victims of war. But during the six months of his assignment, he also painted a broader picture of the children. These are some of his photographs.
