This made a name for actress Jemima Rooper, formerly a child star in The Famous Five. But an interesting bit of trivia is that she beat another former child star in the last 4 of the auditions for the part, that of Victoria Shalet of The Queen's Nose fame, who was a big fan of the novel.")
