Ripon Vintage Tractor Run 2024.<br/>The third Brian Chester Road Run took place on Saturday 13 April 2024 as a preview of Tractor Fest at Newby Hall in June.<br/>Around 50 vintage tractors took part in the road run which has raised more than £1,500 to date for the Sir Robert Ogden MacMillan Centre at Harrogate District Hospital.<br/>The event was organised by the West Yorkshire group of the National Vintage Tractor and Engine Club (NVTEC) in memory of local farmer, founding Tractor Fest member and former NVTEC chairman Brian Chester.<br/>The tractors took a route around Galphay, Dallowgill Moor and Low Grantley, setting off from Tates Garden Centre, Larkhill Nurseries in Ripon.

_young-girl-dies-and-two-women-injured-after-being-hit-by-car-in-birmingham.webp "A young girl has died and two women injured after a car ploughed into them on a residential street in Birmingham. <br/><br/>Emergency services rushed to Upper Highgate Street, in the Highgate area of the city, after four pedestrians were mown down at 9.45pm yesterday (Sun).<br/><br/>Paramedics battled to save the child but she was confirmed dead at the scene while two women were taken to hospital with serious injuries.<br/><br/>A second child was also assessed by ambulance crews but did not require any further treatment. <br/><br/>West Midlands Ambulance Service said three ambulances, two paramedic officers, a MERIT trauma doctor and two critical care paramedics were sent to the scene.<br/><br/>A service spokeswoman said: “On arrival, crews found a car and four pedestrians had been involved in a collision.<br/><br/>“A child, female, was in a critical condition and ambulance staff immediately began administering advanced life support.<br/><br/>“Sadly, despite everyone’s best efforts, she could not be saved and was confirmed dead at the scene.<br/><br/>“Two women were treated by medics for serious, but not life-threatening, injuries and were conveyed on blue lights to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham for further treatment.<br/><br/>“A fourth patient, a child, was assessed by ambulance crews but was not injured and so was discharged at the scene.”")
