_second-generation-coming-with-longer-wheelbase-7-seat-option-new-citroen-c3-aircross-suv-2024.webp "New Citroen C3 Aircross Ups the Mini SUV Game with EV and 7-Seater Options.<br/><br/>Thanks to its longer wheelbase, the new C3 Aircross offers three rows of seats.<br/><br/>The second-generation C3 Aircross gets larger to make room for a seven-seat option.<br/><br/>Like its Opel Frontera cousin, combustion, hybrid and electric powertrains are available.<br/>The square-chin design carries the same cues as the smaller, five-seat e-C3 hatchback introduced last year.<br/><br/>But what differentiates the second-generation Aircross from the regular C3 isn't more legroom, it's room for more legs. The wheelbase extension gives the pocket-sized SUV a seven-seat option for the first time.<br/><br/>Citroen officially unveiled the new C3 Aircross today and, as expected, it's a mix of Stellantis products we're already familiar with. It ditches the curves, adopting the boxy design language already seen on the smaller C3 hatchback, which shares the updated 'Smart' CMP platform, and Citroen's controversial new corporate logo features proudly on the grille, whose mesh is patterned after the brand's double-striped grille.<br/><br/>And there are similarities with the South American market Aircross introduced 12 months ago, although that model features different door handles and a more traditional Citroen nose.<br/><br/>In terms of packaging, the Aircross closely mirrors the recently introduced Opel Frontera, which also uses the same architecture and will compete directly with Citroen for buyers across Europe. Neither company has revealed the wheelbase measurements for either car (they'll likely be the same), but Citroen says the Aircross is the largest in its class and that's why it can fit a third row of seats inside; This is something Opel hasn't done yet.<br/><br/>We know that overall length has increased by 240 mm (9.5 inches) over the old Aircross, with overall bumper-to-bumper length rising to 4,390 mm (172.8 inches), and Citroen says the more upright rear window means third-row passengers won't have to lower their heads .<br/><br/>Like all its small SUV rivals, the Aircross has zero real off-road purpose, despite what its ground clearance, roof bars and body cladding would have you believe. Citroen has not detailed the powertrain setups at this stage, but says combustion, hybrid and electric options will all be available.<br/><br/>This means we can expect to find the group's 1.2-liter turbo engine under the hood, both with and without 48-volt mild hybrid support. _based-on-alfa-romeo-4c-limited-to-5-pieces-new-abarth-classiche-1300-ot.webp "The mid-engine sports car, which is part of the brand's 75th anniversary celebrations, is likely based on the Alfa Romeo 4C and only five units will be produced.<br/><br/>The 75th birthday celebrations of Fiat's own tuning company, Abarth, continue at full speed.<br/><br/>An exhibition opened this week at Stellantis' Heritage Center in Turin; A number of classic and modern Abarth models were exhibited here, as well as a scale model of a new mid-engine sports car.<br/><br/>The car in question is the Abarth Classiche 1300 OT, a modern interpretation of the Fiat Abarth OT 1300, the small and successful Fiat 850-based sports racer from the 1960s. Even better, Abarth has announced it will make it, but only five will be built.<br/><br/>If you think the beautiful yellow coupe looks familiar, that's because it's essentially a hardtop version of 2022's Abarth Classiche 1000 SP, itself a nod to another of the company's mid-century racers.<br/><br/>This car, of which five will be produced, was actually a redesigned Alfa Romeo 4C, and although Abarth has yet to reveal any further details about the 1300 OT, it's almost certainly the same story. That means a carbon tub and mid-mounted 1.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 237 hp, a six-speed dual-clutch transmission, and almost certainly a curb weight of under a tonne.<br/><br/>Homages to the original 1300 OT include a toned-down version of the distinctive 'periscope' air intake and what looks like a proper clamshell rear section.<br/><br/>The Classiche 1300 OT is available to order now, although only five sets will be made so you better be quick if you want it. Tire pressure monitoring is now standard on dual-wheel models, rain-sensing wipers are now standard, and the Comfort Plus package adds a heated steering wheel. While no van has razor-sharp handling, the Sprinter's standard load-adaptive stability control and available crosswind assist at least help keep it out of trouble in risky situations.<br/><br/>The 2025 Sprinter can tow up to 7,500 pounds when equipped with the high-output diesel engine, but the standard diesel is only good for 5,000 pounds. The passenger van is also good at towing 5000 pounds, but only in the regular-length, 12-passenger version, not the 15-passenger version. The Sprinter's maximum payload is 6812 pounds, but that requires opting for the Cargo van with the high-output engine in its heavy-duty 4500 chassis; The passenger van was rated at 3307 pounds.<br/><br/>Full-size minivan interiors have always been plain from the factory, but the Sprinter offers some comfort features. The Comfort Package Plus brings a variety of features, including contoured, power-adjustable seats with lumbar support and an overhead control panel, and available leather trim for the standard tilt steering wheel. There is also a swivel seat option for front passengers with a lower seat base, which can assist with entry and exit. Most importantly, the Cargo van offers a maximum of 533 cubic feet of cargo space; The Crew van can swallow a maximum of 371 cubes and the Passenger van can even accommodate 111 cubes.
