_tottenham-wonderkid-mikey-moore-scores-within-81-seconds-before-getting-a-brace-in-under-17-euros.webp "England Under 17s got their European Championship campaign off to the best possible start, as Tottenham wonderkid Mikey Moore scored within 81 seconds to put them on their way to a thumping 4-0 victory, against France.<br/><br/>The Young Lions, who are led by Greg Lincoln, played their opening game of the tournament in Cyprus on Tuesday night, with Spain and Portugal the other teams in Group D.<br/><br/>And, they started things off with a bang as Moore, 16, headed home Leo Shahar's cross in the second minute of the game.<br/><br/>Baylee Dipepa, who plays for Port Vale, made it two soon after before Moore added a second of his own and England's third before half-time with a stunning individual run and finish.<br/><br/>Arsenal's Ethan Nwaneri, who became the youngest player to play in the Premier League at the age of 15 years and 181 days when he featured against Brentford in September 2022, scored a fourth early in the second half as England cruised to victory.<br/><br/>Moore has been tipped to go to the top at Spurs, with the winger having attracted interest from several major teams across Europe.<br/><br/>However, in June 2023, he committed his future to the club by agreeing on a deal to move from scholarship to schoolboy forms and then a professional contract when he turns 17.<br/><br/>He has regularly trained with Ange Postecoglou's side this year and made his first team debut in the dying embers of the game against Man City last week.<br/><br/>Moore then came off the bench again during Spurs' 3-0 win over Sheffield United on Sunday, with the 16-year-old replacing James Maddison on both occasions.<br/><br/>In truth, Moore looked the brightest star in England's side as he lined up on the left side of central midfield and continually caused problems for France throughout the game.<br/><br/>Several other starlets featured in England's XI, including Man United's Jack Fletcher, son of former Red Devils star Darren, as the Young Lions got their campaign off to the perfect start.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, speaking last month before Moore had even made his Tottenham debut, Postecoglou heaped praise on the winger and outlined his excitement at his potential.<br/><br/>'Mikey Moore has been really good training with us. Look he's a very talented boy and for him,' he said.<br/><br/>'The reports I've had on him have always been outstanding. He hasn't looked out of place, and it's great for him.'<br/><br/>Portugal beat Spain 2-1 in the other game in England's group, with the Young Lions next in action when they take on the Portuguese on Friday night. <br/>")

_watch-protestors-39paddle-out39-for-pembrokeshire-peoples-rights-to-clean-water.webp "Crowds of protestors made up of surfers, cold water swimmers, kayakers, paddle boarders, coasteering companies, divers, lifeguards, and regular beach-going families took to a Pembrokeshire beach on a sunny weekend this month, with the message of ‘enough is enough, cut the crap!’<br/>As part of the national ‘Surfers Against Sewage’ Paddle Out Protests, campaigners took to the sea at Broad Haven beach on Saturday, May 18 demonstrating to the Government, along with water companies such as Dŵr Cymru, and regulators like Natural Resources Wales the will to stand up for people’s rights to clean water, and that those rightly concerned will not stop until there’s an end to sewage pollution.<br/>Broad Haven Buccaneers surf lifesaving club who were a part of the protests, along with local Blue Tit Chill Swimmers, revealed that the group were forced to cancel four beach lifesaving training days last summer due to sewage pollution.<br/>Also on hand to address the crowds was Pembrokeshire mother Jayne Etherington who offered a stark warning after her daughter Caitlin became seriously ill after becoming infected with e-coli following a swim in the sea at Amroth one August morning, at the height of summer!<br/>With such pollution threatening people’s health, Jayne told the crowd of campiagners: “This is about life and death! It’s about time something changed.”<br/>At the start of the week, the Wales Coast Award winners for 2024 were announced, spotlighting coastal sites achieving supposed ‘high standards’ required to receive what is meant to be a ‘prestigious’ Blue Flag.<br/>Preseli Pembrokeshire was polluted by sewage 7,659 times in 2023, lasting 91,401 hours - that's 10.58 years!<br/>Monitoring was disabled in some locations, so even more sewage could have found its way into our waters last year.<br/>Kate Evans of Planet CIC - one of the organisers of the protest, said: “The event was great - we were really pleased with the turn out.”<br/>Surfers Against Sewage has also created the ‘End Sewage Pollution Manifesto’ which has five very clear, key solutions to end sewage pollution and will be pushing the next Government to adopt their demands and give them their full backing.<br/><br/>Pic: Peter Bounds<br/>Video: Planet CIC")
