As a result, the number of mainland Chinese billionaires on Forbes’ World’s Billionaires list fell for the third consecutive year. A total of 406 Chinese billionaires made the ranking, down from 495 a year ago and a record 626 in 2021. Continued fallout from the pandemic and geopolitical tension drove down stock prices and hurt economic growth in the world’s second largest economy. A deepening slump in the country’s property market also diminished fortunes.<br/><br/>Still, mainland China has the second largest number of billionaires globally, behind only the U.S., which has 813 billionaires this year.<br/><br/>Mainland China doesn’t include passport holders from Hong Kong or Macau, whom Forbes lists separately. Counting those billionaires, greater China has 473 members, down from 562 in 2023, 607 in 2022 and 698 in 2021.<br/><br/>The Forbes World’s Billionaires list is a snapshot of wealth using stock prices and exchange rates from March 8, 2024. Some people become richer or poorer within days of publication. We list individuals rather than multigenerational families who share fortunes, though we include wealth belonging to a billionaire’s spouse and children in certain cases, namely if that person is the founder of the fortune. McTear’s Auctioneers Glasgow.<br/><br/>LARGEST EVER COLLECTION OF CELTIC FC MEDALS COMES TO AUCTION<br/><br/>The largest and most comprehensive Celtic F.C. medal collection to ever come to auction will be the highlight of the McTear’s Sporting Auctions in Glasgow on the 11th April.<br/>‘The Celtic Story’ auction includes seventy lots pinpointing key moments in the club’s history, whilst showcasing some of its most legendary names; Dan Doyle, Johnny Thomson, Chic Geatons, John Bonnar, Jimmy Johnstone, and Paul McStay, to name but six. <br/>Within the collection are there 12 League winners, six Scottish Cup winners, and four League Cup winners medals, along with a raft of Glasgow and Glasgow Charity cup medals including Jimmy Johnstone’s 1963/64 Glasgow Cup medal believed to be his first senior honour at Celtic.<br/>Highlights include an 1888 International Exhibition Medal from Celtic’s inaugural year and first cup final, a 1938 Empire Exhibition trophy, a 1953 Coronation Cup trophy, four medals awarded to Jimmy Johnstone, and a 2003 UEFA Cup medal.<br/>Founded in 1888 , Celtic FC holds a storied legacy since its formation winning a myriad trophies and competitions. That’s more than double the $37 billion in collective crypto billionaire wealth last year.<br/><br/>For the third year running, Changpeng Zhao, founder and former CEO of crypto exchange Binance, is crypto’s wealthiest person. Despite pleading guilty to U.S. money laundering charges in November, CZ, as he’s known, is now worth an estimated $33 billion, up from $10.5 billion last year. That makes him the biggest crypto gainer in dollar terms since last year and the 50th-wealthiest person in the world.
