MINNEAPOLIS — Luka Dončić drilled an electrifying three-pointer over Rudy Gobert with three seconds remaining Friday night at Target Center, and the Dallas Mavericks rallied from an 18-point deficit to shock the Minnesota Timberwolves, 109-108, in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals.

With the victory, the Mavs were able to win both games to open this series on the road, and now hold a commanding 2-0 lead in this best-of-seven series. In the history of the NBA, teams that emerge victorious in the opening two games of a best-of-seven series go on to win that series 92.5 percent of the time.

The series now moves to Dallas for the next two games, where the Mavs can close it out and advance to the NBA Finals for the third time in franchise history. Game 3 is Sunday at 7 p.m. and Game 4 is Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

With the Mavs trailing, 108-106, Minnesota guard Anthony Edwards turned the ball over with 12.8 seconds remaining to set the stage for the heroic moment by Dončić.

“Once we got Luka the ball we wanted to give him space and let him do what he does,” coach Jason Kidd said. “With him attacking the paint over and over, Rudy has to honor that.

“The play was to get Luka the ball and let Luka do what Luka does in those moments. We talked about taking the two, because we were only down two. But when he got to dancing with Gobert, you could see that the step-back (three-pointer) was coming and the rest was history.”

Dončić finished the game with his fourth triple-double in the last five games as he collected 32 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists. On his game-winner, Dončić said:

“I just saw some space and decided to shoot a three. At some point we were down 18 on the road, which is insane to come back from.”

The Timberwolves had one last chance to pull out the victory, and they got the ball in the hands of the player who had the hottest hand for them on Friday. However, Naz Reid’s three-pointer at the buzzer was unsuccessful, and the Mavs were jumping for joy knowing that they’re just two wins away from reaching the NBA Finals.

Besides Dončić, the Mavs got 20 points and six assists from Kyrie Irving, 16 points, five rebounds and five blocks from Daniel Gafford,14 points and nine rebounds from Dereck Lively II, and 10 points and five boards from P.J. Washington.

Reid, who made 7-of-9 three-pointers, paced Minnesota with 23 points, and Edwards collected 21 points, five rebounds and seven assists. The Dallas Mavericks (3-0) hosted the Minnesota Timberwolves (0-3) on Sunday night for game three at American Airlines Center. The Mavs came into this game up 2-0 in the series and are looking to sweep the Timberwolves after taking a 3-0 lead in the series 116-107.

Dallas started the game off knocking down three three-pointers. They took the lead early and held that lead the entire first half.

Dereck Lively Jr. took a big hit from Karl Anthony-Towns knee to the back of the head. He was down on the court for a good three to four minutes before getting to his feet and heading back to the locker room. He looked very woozy when getting up and did not return for the remainder of the game. He was ruled out for a neck sprain. Following the win Luka doncic was asked about the injury and how the team bounces back from one and he said, “Injuries suck but they are a part of sports. Unfortunately it’s the next man up.”

Dallas took a 60-52 lead into the half. Their largest lead in the first half was 12 points.

They shot 47 percent from beyond the arc, knocking down 10 three’s in the first half. 53 percent from the floor and 18-of-19 from the free throw line. The Mavs were led by Luka Doncic who had 15 points at the half, Kyrie Irving was shortly behind with 14 points.

The loss of Lively really started to show in the third quarter. The Timberwolves started to win the rebound battle and Minnesota took their second lead of the game going ahead by two.

The loss of Lively was noticeable down low but Doncic and Irving were not going to let that stop them. Everyone talks about “fourth quarter kyrie” and it definitely showed tonight.

“How many points did he have in the fourth quarter?” Doncic asked the media after the game. “It felt like 20. He was born for these situations.”

Kyrie Irving finished the night with 33 points, three rebounds, four assists.

Luka Doncic finished the night with 33 points, seven rebounds, and five assists.

Both players combined for 66 points for Dallas. These two players are consistently scoring 50+ points per game in this series. This is the third time in the playoffs that both Doncic and Irving have scored 30+ points each.

“He’s patient. He’s calm. He loves Dallas. He loves this group. He mentors the other guy.” Head Coach Jason Kidd on why there is a debate that Doncic and Irving are the best backcourt in the league and why he thinks it works. Coach said that both are extremely good players but they know when to lean on each other in certain situations to get the job done.

Dallas will look to sweep the Timberwolves on Tuesday at home in American Airlines Center. Tip off is at 7:30.

According to the official statistics of the Pakistani government, more than one lakh individuals in the country are affected by diseases caused by smoking,
resulting in 298 deaths every day.

Experts suggest that the tobacco industry is targeting young people to create regular smokers, so that they can replace those who quit smoking.
The mentioned approach of the tobacco industry is very old, and the most important organization of the United Nations, the World Health Organization (WHO),
was established in 1948, and immediately after that, the tobacco industry came under scrutiny. In the 1950s, major players in the tobacco industry
established their influence in the World Health Organization. They established organizations that the WHO used, and secretly provided experts to the
organization who apparently worked for the WHO, but actually protected the interests of the tobacco industry.
Former Swiss Health Minister Thomas Zeltner had revealed such revelations. It is astonishing that scientific experts work simultaneously for major players in the
tobacco industry and the World Health Organization. An example of this is a toxicology expert who was a consultant to the WHO
at a time when there was a global campaign against tobacco use. On the other hand, they were also receiving a salary from a multinational cigarette manufacturing
and selling company like Philip Morris. Then there came a time when these connections became apparent to people. Despite this,
they continued to work as a consultant for the World Health Organization. There are such exemplary examples where scientific experts worked against the objectives
and purposes of international health organizations. When the World Health Organization runs campaigns to promote the health of people,
it is estimated what will be the health of the people?

According to an estimate, there are a billion cigarette smokers in the world, who smoke 18 billion cigarettes daily.
Experts consider it the most profitable business in the world. Eighty percent of the cigarette smokers in the world belong to lower and middle-class societies.
Thirty-three million people work in tobacco fields. A large number of these workers come from extremely poor areas and classes.
Laborers include small children who work for very low wages, but the views of those who struggle against child labor do not focus on these children.

Awareness about diseases caused by smoking is not being created. It is strange that China is the number one tobacco-producing country,
where only 38% of people know that smoking also causes heart diseases, and only 27% know that smokers eventually suffer heart attacks.
Similarly, only 25% of the population in Bangladesh, India, the Netherlands, Russia, Thailand, and Vietnam are aware of these facts.
In New Zealand, 17%, in France 14%, and in the United States 13% of people are unaware of this fact.
You will be surprised to know that heart diseases are the biggest killer of humans in the wo
