This was 15 years ago. There's now a new 4Runner – finally – and even though Toyota has rebuilt its iconic off-roader from the ground up, it retains its rugged spirit.<br/><br/>Also based on the new Tacoma, the 2025 4Runner uses the same TNGA-F truck architecture. It ditches the old 4.0-liter V-6 and five-speed automatic in favor of a standard turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 278 horsepower and 378 pound-feet of torque. That's 8 more hp than the current 4Runner and a whopping 100 additional pound-feet.<br/><br/>The optional I-Force Max hybrid version of the same engine produces 326 hp and 465 lb-ft. Both of these powertrains ditch the old five-speed in favor of a new eight-speed automatic transmission. Unfortunately, there is no manual to be found.<br/><br/>The 4Runner will be offered with two-wheel drive, part-time four-wheel drive and full-time four-wheel drive, depending on how you specify it. All 2WD models will feature a limited-slip differential, while 4WD models will feature the same LSD and electronically controlled two-speed transfer case with high- and low-range gearing, as well as Toyota's Active Traction Control (A-Trac).<br/><br/>There's also what Toyota calls the new Stabilizer Bar Disconnect Mechanism for better articulation. This one-button access system allows the 4Runner to flex while keeping its tires on the ground. The 4Runner has a 32-degree approach and 24-degree departure angle.<br/><br/>And the new 4Runner promises to be even more capable. Mud, Dirt and Sand modes and a quieter Crawl Control function join the party in 2025, while new Trailhunter hardware (borrowed from the Tacoma) joins the rest of the lineup. Buyers will be able to choose from nine 4Runner trims: SR5, TRD Sport, TRD Sport Premium, TRD Off Road, TRD Off Road Premium, Limited, Platinum, TRD Pro and the aforementioned Trailhunter, the toughest of the bunch.<br/><br/>The 4Runner Trailhunter has 33-inch all-terrain tires that raise the ride height by 2.0 inches in the front and 1.5 inches in the rear. Two-and-a-half-inch Old Man Emu forged shocks with ARB-free reservoirs dot the corners of the suspension. There's also an ARB-designed roof rack, a high-mounted air intake for the I-Force Max powertrain (standard on the Trailhunter), a 20-inch light bar, and steel skid plates. And a believing slave is better than a polytheist, even though he might please you. Those invite [you] to the Fire, but Allāh invites to Paradise and to forgiveness, by His permission. To facilitate a comprehensive understanding, we have included accurate and eloquent translations in English and Urdu.<br/><br/>Surah Al-Baqarah, Ayah 221 (Arabic Recitation): “ وَلَا تَنكِحُواْ ٱلۡمُشۡرِكَٰتِ حَتَّىٰ يُؤۡمِنَّۚ وَلَأَمَةٞ مُّؤۡمِنَةٌ خَيۡرٞ مِّن مُّشۡرِكَةٖ وَلَوۡ أَعۡجَبَتۡكُمۡۗ وَلَا تُنكِحُواْ ٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ حَتَّىٰ يُؤۡمِنُواْۚ وَلَعَبۡدٞ مُّؤۡمِنٌ خَيۡرٞ مِّن مُّشۡرِكٖ وَلَوۡ أَعۡجَبَكُمۡۗ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ يَدۡعُونَ إِلَى ٱلنَّارِۖ وَٱللَّهُ يَدۡعُوٓاْ إِلَى ٱلۡجَنَّةِ وَٱلۡمَغۡفِرَةِ بِإِذۡنِهِۦۖ وَيُبَيِّنُ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ لِلنَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ ”<br/><br/>Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 221 (English Translation): “ And do not marry polytheistic women until they believe. And a believing slave woman is better than a polytheist, even though she might please you. And do not marry polytheistic men [to your women] until they believe. And a believing slave is better than a polytheist, even though he might please you. Those invite [you] to the Fire, but Allāh invites to Paradise and to forgiveness, by His permission. And He makes clear His verses [i.e., ordinances] to the people that perhaps they may remember. ”<br/><br/>Surah Al-Baqarah, Ayat 221 (Urdu Translation): “ اور شرک کرنے والی عورتوں سے تاوقتیکہ وه ایمان نہ ﻻئیں تم نکاح نہ کرو ، ایمان والی لونڈی بھی شرک کرنے والی آزاد عورت سے بہت بہتر ہے، گو تمہیں مشرکہ ہی اچھی لگتی ہو اور نہ شرک کرنے والے مردوں کے نکاح میں اپنی عورتوں کو دو جب تک کہ وه ایمان نہ ﻻئیں، ایمان والا غلام آزاد مشرک سے بہتر ہے، گو مشرک تمہیں اچھا لگے۔ یہ لوگ جہنم کی طرف بلاتے ہیں اور اللہ جنت کی طرف اور اپنی بخشش کی طرف اپنے حکم سے بلاتا ہے، وه اپنی آیتیں لوگوں کے لئے بیان فرما رہا ہے، تاکہ وه نصیحت حاصل کریں۔ ”<br/><br/>The English translation by Saheeh International and the Urdu translation by Maulana Muhammad Junagarhi, both published by the renowned King Fahd Glorious Qur'an Printing Complex (KFGQPC).
