Curated by Abby Chen, Yuan’s project merges video art with a domestic ambiance, reflecting on contemporary life’s challenges and hidden threats. The centerpiece, the exhibition’s eponymous work “Everyday War,” depicts a domestic space transforming amid warplanes, symbolizing the evolving nature of conflict.<br/><br/>Yuan Goang-Ming’s work blurs the line between video art and film, exploring themes like “home” and “uncanny futures”. The artist grew up in Taiwan and studied media art in Germany. In the 1990s he established himself as one of Taiwan’s leading new-media artists. The exhibition at the Palazzo delle Prigioni around the corner of Piazza San Marco features Yuan’s works “Everyday Maneuver”, “The 561st Hour of Occupation”, “What lies Beyond Us?”, “Dwelling”, “Everyday War”, “Prophecy”, and “Flat World”. _protestors-daub-manchester-university-in-red-paint.webp "Shocking pictures show Manchester University’s 137-year-old museum daubed with blood-red paint - in the shadow of a pro-Palestine student camp.<br/><br/>The museum, which dates back to 1887, was heavily vandalized across its frontage with vibrant emulsion in the early hours of this morning (Monday).<br/><br/>Photos showed the university's ancient sandstone Queen’s Arch, designed by famed architect Alfred Waterhouse, was also daubed with the distinctive pigment.<br/><br/>No one has yet claimed responsibility for the damage, but Manchester University said it handed over CCTV footage to police who are now investigating the incident.<br/><br/>The defaced building is just opposite a large encampment of Pro-Palestine supporters, who are staging an occupation in solidarity with the war-ravaged nation.<br/><br/>The pro-Palestine demo - which started at uni campuses in the US - have recently sprung up at about a dozen universities across the UK, including Manchester.<br/><br/>Protestors say they're urging the institutions to fully disclose investments, cut academic ties with Israel and divest from businesses linked to Israel.<br/><br/>In November, the uni issued a statement denying it had any involvement with the Israeli defence sector.<br/><br/>A spokesperson said of today's vandalism: “In the early hours of the morning, 13 May, the University and Manchester Museum were subject to an act of criminal vandalism. <br/><br/>“If you are coming on to campus today, you may see that there has been some criminal damage primarily to the Manchester Museum and Queens Arch, with paint sprayed over part of the building early this morning. <br/><br/>“We have CCTV footage of the incident and are working with Greater Manchester Police who are investigating the incident. <br/><br/>\")

It presents major new creations alongside works from the last ten years, particularly from the Pinault Collection.<br/><br/>“Pierre Huyghe has since long questioned the relation between the human and the non-human, and conceives his works as speculative fictions from which emerge other modalities of world. Fictions, to him, are “vehicles for accessing the possible or the impossible—what could be or could not be.” Pierre Huyghe transforms Punta della Dogana into a dynamic, sensitive milieu perpetually evolving. The exhibition is a transitory state inhabited by human and non-human creatures and becomes the site of formation of subjectivities that are constantly learning, changing, and hybridizing. Their memories are expanding with information captured from events, both perceptible and imperceptible, that permeate the exhibition. For Pierre Huyghe, the exhibition is an unpredictable ritual, where new possibilities are generated and coexist, without hierarchy or determinism. With Liminal, he invites us to follow other realities, to become strangers to ourselves, from a perspective other than human—inhuman. This exhibition is supported by Bottega Veneta.
