A report from Israeli media revealed that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu feared the International Criminal Court (ICC) in Den Haag would issue a warrant to arrest him and other officials for war crimes in Gaza.<br/><br/>Quoting a report from Channel 12 on Sunday, April 21, 2024, it was stated that urgent discussions took place last Tuesday in Netanyahu's office, which remain secret until now, where worrying scenarios and serious concerns emerged that would allow the issuance of arrest warrants from the ICC against senior officials, security leaders, and Israeli politicians, including Netanyahu himself. It was reported that Israel's highest political and legal elite were present at the discussions.<br/><br/>The media noted that the reason for the issuance of the international arrest warrant was alleged war crimes in Gaza. The report confirmed that Netanyahu asked the British and German foreign ministers during their visit to Israel to intervene to prevent the issuance of an arrest warrant by the ICC.<br/><br/>It was explained that Tel Aviv had obtained information and messages indicating the possibility of issuing such an order on a large scale and that it might be issued at the end of next month.<br/><br/>Channel 12 also reported that the discussion raised the issue of the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip and statements by several countries that Israel was violating international law, as well as treating the civilian population in the Gaza Strip in a way that violated the Fourth Geneva Convention.
