When he was first diagnosed, his mother Michelle Hoffmeister said she was told to send him to the Missouri Schools for the Severely Disabled, a segregated system for kids with severe disabilities. But Michelle said she knew it wasn’t the right place for him, and fought to get Spencer into the public school system. Today, he’s a thriving young man who loves the St. Louis Blue
