_tenby-sharks-get-ready-to-host-a-bank-holiday-boxing-extravaganza-the-first-of-its-kind-for-pembrokeshire.webp "A Bank Holiday boxing extravaganza - the first of its kind for Pembrokeshire is promised this May - as Tenby Sharks get to showcase the sport once again at the seaside town.<br/>The event held at Tenby Leisure Centre on Saturday, May 4 will feature a daytime afternoon of fun, learning and excitement for all the family; before the big fight night at the venue later that evening.<br/>“With the very first boxing festival of its kind here in West Wales We are hoping people come across and get involved,” said Tenby Sharks Boxing Club head coach Mark Davies.<br/>“This is a family friendly event, and the best part is that entry is free to the daytime festival! If you or your kids have any interest in boxing this is for you...no experience necessary.”<br/>The daytime festival which runs between 11am and 3pm is designed to showcase amateur boxing to the local community by encouraging people to attend and partake in a variety of fun and engaging masterclass seminars, fitness activities and sparring exhibitions.<br/>The event will also feature retail pop ups, a DJ set, along with the attendance of VIP guests, including award-winning boxing coach from Cardiff Tony Borg who enjoyed a successful amateur career that saw him fight and win in over one hundred bouts. <br/>Over 25 years later he is now a highly-respected coach with a stable-full of Welsh Champions at Newport ABC, including former IBF World Champion Lee Selby who will also be at the event.<br/>“Tony will be in attendance with professional boxers from his club to showcase a masterclass in training methods at the highest level. We are super excited to see him and his team in action,” continued Mark.<br/> “Although Lee has retired from professional boxing, he is now focused on building his own stable ofboxers and guiding Wales next generation of future champions. <br/>“His knowledge and experience are top notch, and great for all those budding world champions to absorb as he takes his masterclass.”<br/>Doors for the Fight Night open at 6.30pm, with bouts starting at 7.30pm.<br/>“To top it off our evening show is set to blow the roof off, with 15 bouts that show off some of the local talent from around Pembrokeshire as we look to take on clubs from all over Wales,” explained Mark.<br/>“Be sure to get out and get behind us as we represent, the club, the town, and Pembrokeshire itself.”<br/>Tickets are available from www.tkoevents.uk or by heading to Tenby Sharks Boxing Club page on Facebook.<br/><br/>©OWOW Media <br/>Film: Wayne Boucher<br/>Music: Alex Productions")

_st-george39s-day-rally-riot-cops-clash-with-crowds-as-police-horse-is-attacked-near-downing-street.webp "A St George's Day rally in London descended into chaos today as riot officers clashed with crowds and a police horse was attacked near Downing Street. <br/><br/>Mounted police intervened after a group broke through a cordon formed to stop people moving past the area that had been allocated for the event. <br/><br/>This led to scuffles breaking out, with footage appearing to show one of the horses being struck by a man with an umbrella. <br/><br/>The melee happened just before the main rally at 3 pm, where Tommy Robinson and Laurence Fox joined crowds singing along to songs including Sweet Caroline. <br/><br/>The Met said officers were forced to respond when a group 'violently' forced through police blockades. <br/><br/>But it prompted claims of 'two-tier policing', with critics suggesting pro-Palestine marchers were treated more favorably. <br/><br/>The Met shared a video that appears to show officers forming a cordon but a group, some waving flags and others wearing St George's flags, pushing past it before two mounted officers on horses intervene.<br/><br/>A spokesman said: 'The event is not due to start for an hour and regrettably officers are already dealing with disorder.<br/><br/>'There is an area allocated for this event in Richmond Terrace. This group went past it and continued up Whitehall.<br/><br/>'When officers formed a cordon and asked the group to turn round, they reacted by violently forcing their way through. Mounted officers intervened with horses to restore the cordon.'<br/><br/>The Met said no further incidents had been reported at the rally, which passed off peacefully. <br/><br/>Among those giving speeches were Tommy Robinson, former leader of the English Defence League, while Laurence Fox - leader of The Reclaim Party - was also in attendance.")
