This helps advance California's goals as it moves towards its 2035 ban on new gas vehicle sales and leads the U.S. in EV adoption rates. California accounts for about one-third of all U.S. electric vehicle sales and has over 1.8 million zero-emission vehicles sold. The state recently approved a $1.9 billion plan to install up to 40,000 new public charging stations on its roads.
