Young, Jr.'s 1968 keynote speech at the AIA National Convention in Portland, Oregon, marking a time when doors began to effectively open for African Americans in the field. Symes focused on mentoring young architects, Turner on traditional architectural practice, and Griffin on practice and education. All three were dedicated to serving their communities
