Description: The 4th King of Bhutan, Jigme Singye Wanchuk, coined the term Gross National Happiness (GNH) in the 1970s as a more appropriate measure of social progress than Gross National Product (GNP). nGNH has guided development and social policy in Bhutan for four decades.
