ITAnIl palazzo risale al 1792 e fu realizzato dalla Diocesi di Pisa, per circa un secolo fu utilizzato come orfanotrofio, poi alla fine del 1800 divenne ad uso commerciale al piano terra dove fu realizzato un panificio e abitativo ai piani e nella mansarda. Proprio in questa mansarda nacque la Dirce, e fu la prima bambina fortunata (non orfana) che il palazzo accoglieva.
