The U.S. faces a massive surge in power demand from data centers and the electrification of vehicles and other parts of the economy over the next decade. If this demand is not met, it could jeopardize economic growth according to utility executives. The demand from just data centers and electric vehicles is expected to increase by 2030, equivalent to Turkey's entire current electricity usage. Major tech companies are requesting large amounts of power for new data centers, equivalent to a nuclear power plant in some cases.
