He’s a stuntman, and like everyone in the stunt community, he gets blown up, shot, crashed, thrown through windows and dropped from the highest of heights, all for our entertainment. And now, fresh off an almost career-ending accident, this working-class hero has to track down a missing movie star, solve a conspiracy and try to win back the love of his life while still doing his day job. What could possibly go right?

From real-life stunt man and director David Leitch, the blockbuster director of Bullet Train, Deadpool 2, Atomic Blonde and Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw and the producer of John Wick, Nobody and Violent Night, comes his most personal film yet. A new hilarious, hard-driving, all-star apex-action thriller and love letter to action movies and the hard-working and under-appreciated crew of people who make them: The Fall Guy.

Oscar® nominee Ryan Gosling (Barbie, La La Land, Drive) stars as Colt Seavers, a battle-scarred stuntman who, having left the business a year earlier to focus on both his physical and mental health, is drafted back into service when the star of a mega-budget studio movie—being directed by his ex, Jody Moreno, played by Golden Globe winner Emily Blunt (Oppenheimer, A Quiet Place films, Sicario)—goes missing.

While the film’s ruthless producer (Emmy winner Hannah Waddingham; Ted Lasso), maneuvers to keep the disappearance of star Tom Ryder (Golden Globe winner Aaron Taylor-Johnson; Bullet Train) a secret from the studio and the media, Colt performs the film’s most outrageous stunts while trying (with limited success) to charm his way back into Jody’s good graces. But as the mystery around the missing star deepens, Colt will find himself ensnared in a sinister, criminal plot that will push him to the edge of a fall more dangerous than any stunt.

Inspired by the hit 1980s TV series, The Fall Guy also stars Winston Duke (Black Panther franchise) and Academy Award® nominee Stephanie Hsu (Everything Everywhere All at Once).

From a screenplay by Hobbs & Shaw screenwriter Drew Pearce, The Fall Guy is produced by Kelly McCormick (Bullet Train, Nobody, Atomic Blonde) and David Leitch for their company 87North, and by Ryan Gosling and by Guymon Casady (Game of Thrones, Steve Jobs and executive producer of the upcoming series Ripley) for Entertainment 360. The film is executive produced by Drew Pearce, Entertainment 360’s Geoff Shaevitz and the creator of the original Fall Guy television series, Glen A. Larson.

The Fall Guy hits UK cinemas on 2nd May and US cinemas on 3rd May 2024.

“X-Men: The Animated Series” may have an enduring impact as meme fodder, but to many millennials, the Fox show was a gateway into one of Marvel’s most venerable franchises. Before the live-action blockbusters of the early aughts, and certainly before the rise of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, “The Animated Series” offered a primer on mutants as a powerful allegory for marginalized groups, plus iconic characters like the saber-clawed Wolverine and telepathic Jean Grey.

Due to the intricacies of intellectual property rights, the X-Men have been a conspicuous absence from the MCU since its inception in 2008. Disney’s acquisition of Fox opened the door for an integration, but the Mouse House has been patient in deploying its new assets. The animated series “X-Men ‘97” marks the first X-Men title to originate from Marvel Studios, the unit captained by power producer Kevin Feige. Smartly, the show reintroduces the X-Men on their own terms, rather than grafting them onto a pre-existing ensemble. Under head writer Beau DeMayo, “X-Men ‘97” is also freed of any obligations to the MCU’s continuity. (DeMayo was recently fired from the show, but had completed work through an upcoming second season.) As a direct follow-up to “The Animated Series” set near the end of the last millennium, the show can dedicate its energies to doing right by a nostalgia object while introducing itself to a new audience. And as off-canon animation, “X-Men ‘97” can take bigger, wilder swings in its story, staying true to the fantastical nature of comics writing while remaining grounded in characters’ emotions.
In the finale to “The Animated Series,” Professor Charles Xavier was fatally shot by an anti-mutant bureaucrat. Technically, he was near-fatally shot and spirited off to an alien world for long-term care, but the first three episodes of “X-Men ‘97” simplify that background knowledge into the simple fact of Xavier’s absence. An X-Men with no Professor X is jarring, but “X-Men ‘97” offers a bridge between past and present in a deep bench of returning voice actors, including Cal Dodd as Wolverine and Alison Sealy-Smith as the weather-controlling Storm. In Xavier’s absence, Cyclops (Ray Chase) has uneasily assumed the role of de facto leader, but his pregnant wife Jean (Jennifer Hale) thinks the couple should consider stepping back from saving humanity to focus on their family. Xavier, it turns out, may have agreed. The premiere’s final moments reveal the Professor’s chosen heir is his former friend and arch-rival Magneto (Matthew Waterson), who agrees to adopt a more peaceful vision of mutants’ coexistence with humanity.

Obtaining Test status from the International Cricket Council (ICC) is a significant milestone for any cricketing nation. Countries often have to meet certain criteria related to cricket development, infrastructure, governance, and administration to attain this status.

1. Associate Membership: Initially, a country needs to become an Associate Member of the ICC. Associate Membership is the first step towards gaining Test status.

2. Playing Infrastructure: The country aspiring for Test status must demonstrate that it has the necessary infrastructure to support Test cricket. This includes having stadiums capable of hosting 5-day matches, practice facilities, accommodation for players and officials, and other logistical requirements.

3. Domestic Structure: The country must have a robust domestic cricket structure. This includes competitive domestic leagues and tournaments that provide opportunities for players to develop their skills and experience a high standard of cricket.

4. Performance in ICC Events: Performance in ICC events such as the ICC Cricket World Cup, ICC T20 World Cup, and ICC Champions Trophy can also play a role in gaining Test status. Consistent success in these tournaments can demonstrate the country's cricketing prowess and its readiness for Test cricket.

In the last 20 years, ICC has made procedural changes in granting test status. Earlier, the qualifying criteria for playing test cricket was to defeat 5 test-playing nations in ODIs or T20Is. If a team did that then it was up to an internal ICC committee to decide whether they deserve full member status or not. This system lacked transparency and the procedure adopted by the internal committee was vague which led to a haphazard process of granting Test status.

Take for example the Bangladesh team, they were granted test status in June 2000 because of international pressure after they had defeated Pakistan in the 1999 WC. They neither had the experience nor the bench strength to be a test team at that point as a result they lost 103 test matches and won only 19 out of the total 140 that they have played till February 2024 which accounts for a win percentage of 13%.
The ICC then proposed a system of promotion and relegation which roughly meant there would be two divisions, Division 1 and Division 2, if a top team played bad cricket then they would be relegated to Division 2 and if a Division 2 team played good cricket for longer periods they could be promoted to Division 1, but this proposal was dropped at an ICC meeting.
The latest system that the ICC developed is this:-
International teams that do not have Test status can play first-class cricket in the ICC Intercontinental Cup, under conditions which are similar to Tests.
Then comes the ICC Test Challenge. An associate nation team must win the Intercontinental Cup to qualify for this challenge. The winner of the ICC Intercontinental Cup earns the opportunity to compete against the lowest-ranked Test team once every four
