Powering the front is an electric hub motor, while at the rear a separate motor connected to the bike's chain drive offers the rider full-time AWD. This is ideal for situations where the surface is loose, wet, snowy or muddy.<br/><br/>The motors themselves are dual 750W units connected to a Panasonic's 17.25ah, 48V battery, good for between 29 and 52 miles depending on pedal use and load. The single-speed chain drive connects the pedals to the rear wheel, sort of like a stabilizer, but is designed to reduce the potential for overall problems in the field. Fewer components to break means fewer components to break when you need it most.<br/><br/>This gets even better, however, as QuietKat has designed the entire system to reduce the torque steer common on two-wheel drive bikes, and also gives the rider the ability to choose which motor they want to send power to.<br/><br/>According to QuietKat, “Ranger AWD's all-wheel drive feature, enabled by a unique control scheme, minimizes the front-wheel “pull” commonly experienced on AWD bikes, delivering better traction, more power, and ultimately more fun.” “Ranger AWD's engine selector switch allows drivers to switch between front, rear and both engines, adapting to a variety of driving conditions and preferences,” the company added. This selectability will be huge in terms of saving battery power against using torque when needed in the countryside.<br/><br/>Fat Kenda tires get you through any challenge, and the RST suspension helps reduce stress over bumps and off-road. Dual-piston hydraulic brakes stop you when a bear crosses your path. There's also a cargo rack in the back, perfect for carrying packages or game from the woods.<br/><br/>As for the price, the QuietKat Ranger AWD will set you back $3,499, which isn't that expensive for the e-bike world. To put those numbers into perspective, the Q6 is 7.1 inches (180 mm) longer than the Q4 and has an extra 5.4 inches (137 mm) between the wheels.<br/><br/>Audi highlighted the Q6's cabin at last year's Munich Motor Show, so there aren't many surprises. However, the crossover has a panoramic screen consisting of an 11.9-inch digital instrument panel and a 14.5-inch infotainment system. The latter is based on Android Automotive and has an app store as well as a digital assistant represented by an avatar.<br/><br/>Other highlights include an interactive light bar, a 22-speaker Bang & Olufsen premium audio system, and a large cargo hold. The latter accommodates 18.6 cubic feet (526 liters) of trunk, but this can be increased to 54 cubic feet (1,529 liters) by folding the rear seats. If that's not enough space, the trunk has a capacity of 2.3 cubic feet (64 liters).<br/><br/>The Q6 e-tron rides on Premium Platform Electric (PPE) and features twelve modules, 180 prismatic cells and a newly developed lithium-ion battery with a gross capacity of 100 kWh. This gives the model a range of up to 388 miles (625 km), although the EPA figure is said to be more than 300 miles (483 km).<br/><br/>In the United States, the Q6 e-tron will produce 422 hp (315 kW / 428 PS) and 456 hp (340 kW / 462 PS) with launch control. When the second system is activated, the crossover will be able to reach 60 mph (96 km/h) in about five seconds. If the driver keeps his feet upright, the model will eventually reach a top speed of 210 km/h (130 mph).<br/><br/>The international version is slightly less impressive at 382 hp (285 kW / 387 PS). This results in a slower 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) time of 5.9 seconds, but top speed remains unchanged.<br/><br/>Finally, the SQ6 e-tron has 483 hp (360 kW / 489 PS), but with launch control this value reaches 510 hp (380 kW / 517 PS). Thanks to its extra power, reaching 96 km/h takes approximately 4.2 seconds, while the top speed increases to 230 km/h.<br/><br/>When the battery is low, drivers will appreciate the 270 kW DC fast charging feature. It allows the model to reach a range of 158 miles (255 km) with a ten-minute charge. If you're not in a hurry, the battery can go from 10% to 80% in about 21 minutes.<br/><br/>The Q6 e-tron will be available in the third quarter and prices in Germany start from €74,700.
