The bands is one of Taiwan's top senior High Schools know for it's academic excellence.<br/><br/>The School student body consists of around three thousand girls aged between 16 and 18 years old who come from across all parts of Taiwan which is an island nation with over 23 million people despite it only being half the size of Scotland.<br/><br/>To inspire the students to make a positive difference in the world, the school provides students with an open and dynamic learning environment that offers the opportunity to take traditional subjects alongside athletics and the arts. <br/><br/>Over the past century, the school has nurtured many intelligent, confident, and caring young women. Some have gone on to become leaders in their respective fields, such as Taiwan's current Vice-President, Ms Lu Hsiu-Lieu.<br/><br/>Along with it's outstanding academic record, the school is particularly proud of it's marching band which was established in 1959 with an honour guard formed in 1963 and colour guard in 1998, who have received many awards for their activities.<br/><br/>The marching band consists of an ensemble of elite student musicians while the honour guard performs complex rifle routines.

The video was one of the last I filmed and recorded using a Hi8 camcorder I was gifted by a member of the Edinburgh Cine and Video Society who I had been a member of for many years while living in Edinburgh.<br/><br/>The Indian Army Chief's Military Band is a member of the Indian Army which numbers around one million individuals which includes around thirty four divisions which has it's headquarters in New Delhi.The band is under the direction of the Chief of Army Staff which consists of a number of services and arms.<br/><br/>The Indian Army has around fourty eight military bands with over four hundred pipes and drums. The bands are trained at the Military Music Wing in Panchmarhi, Madhya Pradesh.<br/><br/>The Chief Military Band was formed in the Indian capital of Delhi back in 1990 and is well known for flawness synchronisation of it's movement and music.<br/><br/>It's music can be heard played at many prestigious state and ceremonial occasions which include tje Republic Day Festivities, India Independence Day and at Beating Retreat ceremonies.

The band has established itself as an audience favourite at top US events such as the NFL Super Bowl and was a hit at the Tattoo back in 1999.<br/><br/>The Golden Eagles Marching Band is one of six bands within the Department of Music at South East Missouri State University. This years band is one of the most televised marching bands in the United States, this talented group of musicians and dancers are under the direction of Professor Barry W Bernhardt, assisted by Dr Robert Conger and Dr Shane Mizicko.

The Regiment was given the nickname of the Oxford Blues as a result of their first Colonel, the Earl of Oxford and also because of their blue uniforms.<br/><br/>During those early years the band featured kettle drummers with trumpeters and they wore heavily embroidered and gold laced frockcoats which look very similar to the present day state dress. This includes a black velvet jockey cap which was introduced during Queen Victoria's reign.<br/>A pair of solid silver kettle drums which were presented in 1805 by King George 3rd are still in use today and are carried by the Drum Horse while being played by their mounted drummer on the Queen's Birthday Parade and on Horse Guards parade.<br/><br/>The band requires all members to undertake an intensive five month long Household Cavarly Equestrian Course.

Throughout it's colourful history it has thrilled generations of Singaporeans with it's music and display, while playing an important role in maintaining a positive public image for the Police.<br/><br/>Due to it's varied commitments and aim to provide a flavour of Singaporean culture, the band has developed an extensive musical repertoire ranging from traditional marches to commercial arrangements.<br/><br/>While the band's participation at the Japanese World Police Band Concert in Yokohama is noteworthy, performing for the first time at the 1991 Edinburgh Tattoo marked a milestone in it's history. Returning seventeen years later the band performs again to a packed audience.<br/><br/>The Women's Police Pipes and Drums were formed in 1972 initially trained by the Gurkha Contingent Pipes and Drums Platoon. The band regularly performs at both police and community functions and has travelled to Japan for at appearance at the World Police Band Concert in Yokohama.<br/><br/>I recorded this video after contacting the Tattoo marketing team seeking permission to film and record their live free event called Taste of the Tattoo which was a hugely popular feature while the main Tattoo event took place at the Edinburgh Castle within the Scottish capital.
