Neuroscience Breakthrough , Could Lead to New Treatments for , Spinal Cord Injuries.
'Newsweek' reports that neuroscientists have
discovered that the human spinal cord is capable of
making its own memories independent of the brain.
The discovery, which challenges previous
ideas about neural circuits outside of the brain,
could represent a breakthrough for people
recovering from spinal cord injuries. .
Learning and memory is
often attributed as functions
of the brain exclusively, Aya Takeoka, principal investigator at Japan's
RIKEN Center for Brain Science, via 'Newsweek'.
Although scientists knew for
more than a century that the
spinal cord could learn and adapt
movements in the absence of brain
input, we did not know how
the spinal cord learns and
memorize what is has learned, Aya Takeoka, principal investigator at Japan's
RIKEN Center for Brain Science, via 'Newsweek'.
Gaining insights into the underlying
mechanism is essential if we want
to understand the foundations
of movement automaticity in
healthy people and use this
knowledge to improve recovery
after spinal cord injury, Aya Takeoka, principal investigator at Japan's
RIKEN Center for Brain Science, via 'Newsweek'.
The team of neuroscientists looked to demonstrate
how spinal cord cells can adapt to sensory inputs
without receiving any signals from the brain.
The two groups of nerve cells have
distinct functions; learning cells are
not needed for recalling what the
spinal cord had learned, and memory
cells were not needed for learning, Aya Takeoka, principal investigator at Japan's
RIKEN Center for Brain Science, via 'Newsweek'.
The team hopes their results could help
develop new rehabilitative training methods
for patients with spinal cord damage.
Not only do these results challenge
the prevailing notion that motor learning
and memory are solely confined to brain
circuits, but we showed that we could
manipulate spinal cord motor recall,
which has implications for therapies
designed to improve recovery
after spinal cord damage, Aya Takeoka, principal investigator at Japan's
RIKEN Center for Brain Science, via 'Newsweek'.
The team's findings
were published in the
journal 'Science.'

2 days solo camping-Build a comfortable shelter with a bath & small plantation field

Peace be upon you, and Allah mercy and blessings.
In this video I return to the two-story shelter. The first day I made a rainwater storage tank and a bath, followed by very heavy rain in the afternoon after collecting firewood, until the evening I cooked and relaxed.
The second day I renovated the shelter starting from the top window and made a bamboo wall on the bottom floor, a window that could also be used as a table and chairs for relaxing. This was also followed by making a small garden at the edge of the shelter to grow vegetables while the rain was pouring, including the vegetable seeds that I brought were cucumber seeds, beans and also peanuts.
Until the afternoon, relax and cook in the evening, followed by a bar of coffee in the evening while enjoying nature.
Enjoy watching, hope you enjoy it ☺️ see you again in the next video ☺️

Help with LIKE, COMMENT, SHARE and those who haven't SUBSCRIBE, please subscribe ☺️

#campingovernight
#campingrainderas
#campingintheforest
#SumatraForest
#campingwiththunderstorm
#campingwithheavyrain
#campingwithrainstorm
#soundofheawyrain
#campingsolo
#campingandfishing
#rainforest
#campingintheforest
#overnightintheforest
#campingsolo
#camping
#uu
#Relax
#solocamp
#ASMR
#solocampingrainderas
#ulilebell

Experts' Tips on Taking, Supplements as Sleep-Aids.
'Time' recently spoke with experts regarding
over-the-counter sleep aids and whether they
can really help someone with insomnia.
'Time' recently spoke with experts regarding
over-the-counter sleep aids and whether they
can really help someone with insomnia.
Melatonin has become a popular
supplement in recent years for being
a safe and effective sleep aid.
According to a 2023 study by the American Academy of Sleep
Medicine (AASM), nearly two-thirds of people in the
United States have tried using melatonin to help them sleep. .
It’s not something that is generally
harmful or toxic, which is probably
why people are tempted to take
more when a little bit doesn’t work, Dr. Milena Pavlova, neurologist at Brigham and Women’s
Faulkner Hospital and an associate professor of
neurology at Harvard Medical School, via 'Time'.
'Time' points out that supplements, such as
melatonin, are not regulated by the
U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Similar to melatonin, over-the-counter antihistamines
like Benadryl have become a popular sleep-aid due to
containing doxylamine, which causes drowsiness.
However, doxylamine also comes
with a number of side effects,
including a potential hangover the next day.
The big problem with antihistamines
is they can make people extremely
groggy and really impair cognitive
function the next day, Dr. Indira Gurubhagavatula, professor of medicine
in the division of sleep medicine at the
University of Pennsylvania, via 'Time'.
While antihistamines can induce
drowsiness, they don't normally
result in quality, restorative sleep.
Experts suggest eliminating things that prevent healthy sleep, like alcohol and caffeine, while also incorporating physical activity into your daily routine.

Spring is upon us and there is more to clean than just your home. Even your oral care routine can use a refresh. Here are some tips for those who are hoping to do just that. There's more to oral care than just brushing and flossing. An oral rinse is a crucial step to a healthy mouth due to its ability to kill bacteria. A good dental care routine is key to achieving total wellness, and poor oral hygiene can lead to gum disease. Consistent brushing and use of oral rinses in the morning and before bedtime, along with regular flossing, are essential practices for maintaining a healthy mouth. Just as you prioritize your annual physical or consult with medical specialists, it's crucial to schedule regular dental check-ups every six months as well. These appointments not only entail professional cleanings from a hygienist but also ensure that your oral health is at its best. To refresh your smile for spring make sure to brush and floss twice a day; use a soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste. Brushing and flossing help remove plaque, bacteria, and food particles that can lead to tooth decay and gum disease. Don't forget to use an oral rinse regularly, too. Eat fibrous foods (fruits and veggies) daily to remove bacteria from mouth, help hydration and deter dry mouth. Ensure that your balanced diet includes vitamins C, D, and E. Stimulate salivary flow with sugar-free mints, lozenges, or gum. TheraBreath, created by a dentist over 20 years ago has an all-new Deep Clean Oral Rinse with antiseptic benefits to incorporate in your daily routine, all while preserving their signature alcohol-free formula across their oral rinses. This rinse also effectively kills 99.9% of germs that cause bad breath, plaque, and gingivitis.* Available in a new Fresh Mint flavor, Deep Clean Oral Rinse provides a minty fresh taste. Additionally, hit snooze on morning breath with the TheraBreath Overnight Oral Rinse, which is intended for nighttime use and is an anticavity fluoride rinse that fights bad breath for 12 hours**. Go to therabreath.com to learn more about these rinses, and they are available for purchase at major retailers such as Walmart, Walgreens, and CVS Pharmacy in addition to Amazon. *In laboratory testing **When used as directed
