Description:
Part 6 and final part of the children's drama. The children's stay with their aunt is soon coming to an end, so they ask the Psammead for a special wish on their final day. And as it turns out it proves very opportune when Pip overhears a devious plot against the household...<br/><br/>Starring Anna Massey, Toby Afundell-Phillips, Laura Clarke, Vicci Avery, Leonard Kirby, Frank Taylor, Polly Kemp, Simon Slater, Joanna Barrett, Callum MacPherson and Carol MacReady. This is from my own collection and one I had trouble finding at home until recently. Ironically I didn't have the follow up to this, The Phoenix and the Carpet, but yesterday I came across it in a charity shop by chance. So next month - as long as the site permits it - I shall attempt to upload that here to complete this series. Until then, enjoy this 2nd series, which I think is even better than the original.

This was written by Jack Rosenthal (Maureen Lipman's husband) and was originally broadcast on April 5th 1996. It proved popular enough with viewers that it inspired a sequel, Cold Enough For Snow a year later (which I sadly do not have) This is notable not only for being Alec Guinness' final screen role, but also for featuring Laura Howard just a year before she would find fame as Cully Barnaby in Midsomer Murders. This is from my own recording on a video tape, so apologies in advance for any glitches there may be. I noticed that there does not seem to be any videos of this online, so I thought I'd upload my own copy for anyone seeking this out. I found it surprisingly enjoyable, and I hope you do too.")
